Very Good - Early 18th-century panelled calf, blind-tooled to a central panel with corner scrolls; raised bands. Edges sprinkled. Early ink inscription on front flyleaf: “Ed. Sandys 1747 — ex dono amici charissimi Ant. Champion.” Below, a Latin note citing Plato (“ille princeps ingenii & doctrinae Plato; Ciceronis Ep. ad Fratrem.”). Early pencil price mark on flyleaf. Light toning and occasional spotting; title with mild dusting; joints rubbed with small scuffs and corner wear; boards showing a few old marks.
