Synopsis: Hawthorne’s retelling of Greek myths, presented as “stories within a story”: the frame narrative has a Williams College student, Eunice Bright, telling mythic tales to a group of children at Tanglewood in Lenox, Massachusetts (where Hawthorne lived for a time).
