DESCRIPTION
THURSAKYNGI (PURSAKYNGI) Vol I
The Essence of Thursian Sorcery
A striking and exceptionally scarce deluxe issue of Ekortu’s Þursakyngi I: The Essence of Thursian Sorcery, the foundational volume of his series of Thursatru grimoires. This is the Eitrketill Edition of 2023, limited to only 38 copies, this being no. 26/38, specially bound in heavily grained black goatskin and retaining its accompanying crow-feather bookmark and separate Eitrketill talisman.
The Eitrketill issue was produced from the third printing of the text, published by Ixaxaar in 2022 in an edition of 1,000 copies, but was subsequently issued in this substantially more restricted deluxe form in 2023. The publisher records only 38 copies of the Eitrketill Edition, bound in full goatskin with the Thursacross blind-stamped to the front board, the title blind-stamped in runic characters to the spine, four raised bands and hand-coloured marbled endpapers. Each copy was accompanied by a crow feather and an Eitrketill talisman drawn upon handmade paper and housed in an envelope.
An impressive production from Ixaxaar Occult Literature and one of the scarcer issues of the first Þursakyngi volume. The work sets out the foundations of Ekortu’s modern Thursatru system, combining interpretations of Old Norse mythology and giant-lore with ritual magic, rune-work, Scandinavian magical traditions and Left-Hand Path and Gnostic concepts. Its elaborate handmade binding and ritual accompaniments make the Eitrketill issue particularly desirable within the specialist market for modern occult and grimoire publishing.
CONDITION, COLLATION & COPY NOTES
A particularly clean and well-preserved example of this scarce deluxe issue.
Full heavily grained black goatskin binding with the Thursacross blind-stamped to the front board and the title blind-stamped in runic characters to the spine, which is formed with four raised bands. Binding remains clean and sound, with the natural pronounced grain of the goatskin well preserved and no significant rubbing or wear apparent. Boards and corners remain sharp and the binding presents extremely well.
Hand-coloured marbled endpapers clean and attractive. Text block clean, bright and firmly bound, with no significant marking, spotting or staining apparent from inspection. Illustrated material and photographic section likewise clean and fresh.
Complete with the original crow-feather bookmark and the separate Eitrketill talisman drawn on handmade paper and retained within its accompanying envelope.
The publisher describes the talisman as intended for use as a ritual focal point during Thursian blót, particularly in workings associated with Hvergelmir and the Niflic waters, symbolically connecting Miðgarðr with the mysteries of Útgarðr.
A handsome collector-grade example of one of the most restricted editions of the first Þursakyngi volume.
Please see Photos as part of condition report.

Ixaxaar Occult Literature, Þursakyngi – Volume I: The Essence of Thursian Sorcery
SYNOPSIS
Þursakyngi I: The Essence of Thursian Sorcery is the first volume in Ekortu’s series of Thursatru grimoires and establishes the cosmological, religious and practical foundations for the system developed through the succeeding books.
The work centres upon the Þursar or Thurses — the primordial giant powers of Norse mythology — and develops what Ekortu terms the “Giant’s Path”. It draws upon Old Norse mythology, Scandinavian folklore and magical traditions while combining these sources with modern Gnostic and Left-Hand Path interpretations.
Subjects include spiritual and ritual practice, rune mysteries, practical sorcery, High Thursian Magic, the forces of Nifl and Muspell, Norse mythology and gigantology, Hel-workings, magical correspondences and altered or shape-shifting states associated with the hamr. The cosmological framework places particular emphasis upon Ginnungagap and the primordial forces existing beyond or preceding the ordered cosmos.
Rather than presenting itself as a historical reconstruction of Viking-Age religion, Þursakyngi develops a contemporary religio-magical system from Norse mythological and folkloric material. As the opening volume of the series, The Essence of Thursian Sorcery provides the conceptual and practical foundation for Ekortu’s later works and remains the principal introduction to his Thursatru Tradition. The publisher describes the work as the first in a set of grimoires devoted to the spiritual workings, rune mysteries, sorcery and mythology of the Thursian current.
AUTHOR BIO
Ekortu is a Swedish occult author and researcher whose principal interests include Old Norse giants and sorcery, Scandinavian folklore, runology and traditional Scandinavian magical practices. He has studied Scandinavian religion at Högskolan Dalarna and Stockholm University.
His principal published work is the Þursakyngi series, beginning with Þursakyngi I: The Essence of Thursian Sorcery in 2014 and followed by Þursakyngi II: Loki, Þursakyngi III: Gullveigarbók and Þursakyngi IV: Svartkonst. The series develops the modern esoteric system which Ekortu terms the Thursatru Tradition.

Like New - The Eitrketill Edition, limited edition of 38 copies. Full leatherbound book bound to grainy goatskin with frontcover blindstamped with Thursacross and spine blindstamped with the title of the book in runic alphabets, four raised bands and handcoloured marbled endpapers. The book comes with a Crow feather as a bookmark and additional Eitrketill talisman drawn on a piece of handmade paper, placed inside of an envelope. “The Eitrketill Talisman is meant to be used as a focal point during any Thursian blot where one seeks to reach the esoteric wisdom of the Niflic waters of Hvergelmir. Place a candle on top of the talisman and feed it with smoke from herbs connected to water to quicken its dormant potential. It then becomes a vessel of connection, bridging the gap between the plane Miðgarðr and the profound mysteries that lie on the Outside, deep within Utgarðr.” Please see photos as part of condition report
