Author Bio: Quintus Curtius Rufus AD 41 was a Roman historian, probably of the 1st century, author of his only known and only surviving work, Historiae Alexandri Magni, "Histories of Alexander the Great", or more fully Historiarum Alexandri Magni Macedonis Libri Qui Supersunt, "All the Books That Survive of the Histories of Alexander the Great of Macedon." Much of it is missing.
Synopsis: The only surviving work of Roman historian Quintus Curtius Rufus, a biography of Alexander the Great, that though weak in areas of geography and military strategy, succeeds in conveying the character and attitudes of the classical emperor. This Elzevir edition was edited by celebrated Dutch Renaissance scholar Daniel Heinsius (1580-1655).
